Warum Mami?

TOD EINER UNSCHULDIGEN

Kerze

DEATH OF AN INNOCENT

I went to a party, Mom, I remembered what you said. You told me not to drink, Mom, so I drank soda instead.

I really felt proud inside, Mom, the way you said I would. I didn't drink and drive, Mom, even though the others said I should.

I know I did the right thing , Mom, I know you're always right. Now the party is finally ending, Mom, and everyone is driving out of sight.

As I got into my car, Mom, I knew I'd get home in one piece. Because of the way you raised me, so responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, Mom, but as I pulled out into the road, the other car didn't see me, Mom, and hit me like a load.

As I lay there on the pavement, Mom, I hear the policeman say, the other guy is drunk, Mom, and now I'm the one who'll pay.

I'm lying here dying, Mom. I wish you'd get here soon. How could this happen to me, Mom? My life just burst like a balloon.

There is blood all around me, Mom, and most of it is mine. I hear the medic say, Mom, I'll die in a short time.

I just wanted to tell you, Mom, I swear I didn't drink. It was the others, Mom. The others didn't think.

He was probably at the same party as I, Mom, the only difference is, he drank and I will die.

Why do people drink, Mom? It can ruin your whole life. I'm feeling sharp pains now. Pains just like a knife.

The guy who hit me is walking, Mom, and I don't think it's fair. I'm lying here dying and all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry, Mom. Tell Daddy to be brave. And when I go to heaven, Mom, put "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.

Someone should have told him, Mom, not to drink and drive. If only they had told him, Mom, I would still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mom. I'm becoming very scared. Please don't cry for me, Mom. When I needed you, you were always there.

I have one last question, Mom, before I say good bye. I didn't drink and drive, why am I the one to die?

Porque bebem as pessoas, Mãe? Pode arruinar toda a nossa vida. Estou a sentir dores intensas agora.

Come è potuto succedere?

WELCOME TO MY LITTLE WORLD

my name is Cody I'm Six years old and I just have one thing to say:

"DON'T DRINK and DRIVE"

IF you do you and others might DIE!

PIZZA, PARTY AND A MOONLIT RIDE

Jenny was so happy about the house that they had found For once in her life it was on the right side of town. She unpacked her things with such great ease, As she watched her curtains blow in the breeze.

How wonderful it was to have her own room ~ School would be starting, she would have friends over soon. There would be sleep-overs and parties ~ she was so happy It's just the way she wanted her life to be.

On the first day of school, everything went great ~ She made new friends and even got a date! She thought, "I want to be popular and I am going to be ~ Because I just got a date with the star of the football team!" To be recognized in this school you have to have clout, and dating this guy would help her out. There was only one problem stopping her fate her parents said she was too young to date. "Well, I won't tell them the entire truth. They won't know the difference ~ what's there to lose?" Jenny asked to stay with her friends that night, her parents frowned and said, "All Right."

Excited, she got ready for the big event, but as she rushed around like she had no sense, She began to feel guilty about all the lies ~ But, what is a pizza, a party, and a moonlit ride?

Well, the pizza was good, and the party went great, but the moonlit ride would have to wait ~ For Jeff was half drunk by this time ~ but he kissed her and said that he was just fine. Then the room filled with smoke and Jeff took a puff. Jenny couldn't believe he was smoking that stuff.

Now, Jeff was ready to ride to the point ~ but, only after he had smoked another joint. They jumped in the car for the moonlit ride, not thinking that he was too drunk to drive. They finally made the point at last, and Jeff started to make a pass.

A pass is not what Jenny wanted at all, (and by a pass, I don't mean playing football). "Perhaps my parents were right ... maybe I am too young. Boy, how could I be so dumb?" She used all her might to push Jeff away ~ "Please take me home, I don't want to stay."

Jeff cranked up the car and floored the gas. In a matter of seconds they were going too fast. As Jeff drove off in a fit of anger, Jenny knew her life was in danger. She begged and pleaded for him to slow down, but he just got faster as they neared the town.

"Just let me get home! I'll confess that I lied, I really went out for a moonlit ride." Then all of a sudden, she saw a big flash ~ "Oh, God, Please help us! We're going to crash!" She doesn't remember the force of the impact ~ just everything all of a sudden went black. She felt someone remove her from the twisted rubble and heard, "Call an ambulance! These kids are in trouble!"

Voices she heard ... a few words at best ~ but she knew there were two cars involved in the wreck. Then wondered to herself if Jeff was alright, and if the people in the other car were alive.

She awoke in the hospital to faces so sad ~ "You've been in a wreck and it looks pretty bad." These voices echoed inside of her head as they gently told her that Jeff was dead. They said, "Jenny, we've done all we can do but it looks as if we'll lose you too."

"But, the people in the other car!" Jenny replied. "We're sorry, Jenny, they also died." Jenny prayed, "Please God, forgive me for what I've done ~ I just wanted to have one night of fun."

"Tell those people's family, I've made their lives dim and I wish I could return their families to them." "Tell Mom and Dad that I am sorry I lied ~ And that it's my fault so many have died. Oh, nurse, won't you please tell them that for me?" The nurse just stood there ~ she never agreed. But took Jenny's hand with tears in her eyes And a moment later Jenny died.

A man asked the nurse, "Why didn't you do your best to bid that girl's last request?" She looked at him with eyes so sad: "Because the people in the other car were her Mom and Dad."

THE FENCE OR THE AMBULANCE

'Twas a dangerous cliff as they freely confessed - Though to walk near its crest was so pleasant - But over its terrible edge there had slipped - A Duke and full many a peasant. -

So the people sait something would have to be done - But their project did not at all tally - Some said, „Put a fence 'round the edge of the cliff - Some, „An ambulance down in the valley."

But the cry for an ambulance carried the day, - For it spread to a neighboring city. - A fence may be useful or not it is true - But each heart became brim full of pity.

For those who slipped over the terrible cliff - And the dwellers in highway and alley - Gave pounds or gave pence, not to put up a fence - But an ambulance down in the valley.

„For the cliff is all right if you're careful," they said, - „And if folks ever slip and are dropping - It isn't the slipping that hurts them so much - As the shock down below when they're stopping."

So day after day, as the mishaps occurred - Quick forth woul rescuers sally - To pick up the victims - Who fell from the cliff - With an ambulance down in the valley.

Better guard well the young than reclaim them when old, - For the voice of true wisdom is calling - Fo rescue the fallen is good, but 'tis best - To prevent other people from falling.

Better close up the source of temptation and crime - Than deliver from dungeon and galley - Better build a strong fence 'round the top of the cliff - Than an ambulance down in the valley!

THE PARTY WENT WRONG

She sits alone
Night after night
Thinking of him again

She thinks of the times
Walking side-by-side
They held each others hand

She thinks of the time
They went to the dance
Spinning round the room

She thinks of the time
Sitting on the beach
They saw their first full moon

She comes to the time
Just months ago
When everything went wrong

The party was over
The fun had been had
Now it was time to be gone

Down the road
Not very far
He never saw the other car

Crossed the line
It came so fast
She woke in the hospital

They said he had passed
If only that had been all
The doctor came in,
she'd no longer walk

If only the driver hadn't been drunk
